Chelsea & Violet

On Saturday, I went to Dillards and saw this extremely cute collection of clothes called "Chelsea & Violet."

They were all so cute. But a little expensive right now for a poor little college student like me. I'll just have to save up. :(

My favorite!

Now some of the collection is a little too "boho" for me but I do love those dresses.

New hair!

Alright. So last Friday, I went to the hairdresser. I showed her the picture of Keiko Lynn's hair (see last blog) and asked her to cut it like that. And here's what we got.

I hated it. I even cried. I've never cried over a haircut before. You know how there's always one girl who cries on America's Next Top Model when she gets her haircut. Yeah, totally me right there. :/

But it does look pretty cute up.

Or with a headband.

So I'm doing my best with what I've got.
But I think that I'm going to cut my hair a little shorter so that it looks better down.

BTW
Super cute new outfit. More pictures tomorrow.

So here's my plan...

In order to become fashionable, I've written down goals that I want to accomplish.

1. Get a new hairstyle. And I already made an appointment for Friday! I'm thinking of getting a haircut like Zooey Deschanel, or maybe I'll copy Keiko Lynn's (a fashion blogger) haircut.

2. Lose weight. Now, in no way is this required for me to be fashionable. I've just decided that it would contribute a whole lot to my "transformation." I've been a big girl my whole life (weighing about 180 lbs). And I've never felt ashamed or have beaten myself up about it. I've just come to the decision that I want to be fit. I want to be able to walk into a store and know that I can always find something in my size. To achieve this, I will work out for an hour everyday, and make better decisions when I'm eating.

3. Go shopping at more thrift stores. I've never really shopped at any thrift stores. If I go shopping, I usually just go to the nearest mall. And if I'm looking for anything vintage, I usually have to order it online. So I'm going to try my darnedest to find some cute stores. Of course, I'll take pictures of all my finds!

4. D.I.Y. I'm going to try my hand at making some of my own jewelry and accessories. Okay, so I'm not exactly sure how well that'll turn out, but whether whatever I make turns into a masterpiece or a disaster, I will most definitely share that all with you.

I guess that's all? Who knows? Maybe on this journey, I'll end up with new goals. Here we go!

So I guess an introduction is in order...

Hello there, my name is Maddie.

I'm 18, and I'm from a small hick town in Kentucky, full of tractors and cows. In my free time, I love to shop, play video games, and engross myself in Asian popculture. I'm a bit of a geek.

I just graduated high school and now I finally have a chance to get out of this place. I'm going to a small private college in Naperville, Illinois (it's a nice town near Chicago).

I've recently fallen in love with fashion. And I know you must be thinking, "why now?" I don't know. I guess that when I was in high school, I wasn't really sure about how I wanted to look, but now I know.

I love the feeling of confidence that I get when I'm wearing a cute outfit. And I love to know that my style is unique.

So I've made it my mission now, to become a cool, hip college student. And I've decided to write it all down in this blog. Maybe someone else will read it and become inspired? Or something... haha. Probably not though. >_>
